Retro Modern Country Kitchen

Kitchen & Bath Details was thrilled to be asked to create a Retro Modern Country Kitchen for a family with young children. The title sounds like a bit of an oxymoron, but with some clever design skills and imagination from principal Tena Collyer, all elements were incorporated into this professional working kitchen.

From the start of the project it was apparent that the modern element would come in the form of high end commercial grade appliances. To incorporate the country effect, off white distressed Medallion semi custom cabinetry was installed along the perimeter of the kitchen.

As a modern compliment to the cabinets, KB Details used a black antiqued distressed island with coordinating wall cabinets. Beautiful granite countertops were a perfect choice for their aesthetics and function.

The client has a love of baking; therefore, a designated baking center was outfitted next to the double range the open shelving provides a retro look.

This spacious kitchen is the perfect setting for the ultimate accessory, a gaggle of happy family members eating, baking, doing homework, and enjoying life.

When you get all dressed up and ready to go out, the ultimate accessory is chosen, the jewelry - beautiful heirloom earings, an amazing necklace found in a market abroad, your engagement ring, all these special pieces add your signature to an outfit. The hardware you select is the piece de resistance of your project!

Kitchen & Bath Details takes the hardware selection process seriously, in our showroom we have options from over twenty different manufactures and US artisans.  Clients can choose from natural stone, hand blown glass, hand crafter pewter sea life, appliance pulls, antique crystal, Murano glass and whimsical designs.

Modern Cottage Kitchen

The client, a florist, asked Kitchen & Bath Details designer, Kathy Hurlburt to create a modern cottage kitchen for her lovely home. The foundation for the cottage feel began with Plain & Fancy cabinetry in a distressed white antique with inlayed bead board styling. The upper wall cabinets have glass inserts which give the illusion of open space and allow the homeowner to infuse a pop of color with pieces from her pottery collection. Aiming for classic and fashionable, Kathy selected subway tile to compliment the granite countertops. A white, apron front farmers sink takes center stage, flanked by open shelving for the homeowner to display her plants and flowers. The modern twist comes in the form of stainless steel appliances and utilizing a rich walnut for the island.
