Kitchen & Bath Details received national recognition when this kitchen, designed by Tena Collyer, was one of the featured rooms in Coastal Living’s 2006 “Idea House” at the Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. 

The goal of this project was to create a serene kitchen that would capture the feeling of true “coastal living.” In keeping with that motif, the design team at Details chose to paint the kitchen’s island in Benjamin Moore’s Yarmouth Blue, a pale ocean blue color.  In addition to painting the island, they chose to use Yarmouth Blue as an accent color inside the glass cabinetry. In doing so, they made the interior-illuminated cabinets glow like sea glass, truly adding a special touch to this coastal kitchen.
