Attention Local Chefs and Cooking Instructors!
This fall, we will begin a series of cooking demos/classes in our living kitchen. We are looking to add a few more holiday inspired demos/classes. If you are a chef or cooking instructor (or know someone fitting this description), please contact us for more information and available dates.
Also, if you have any suggestions for upcoming demo/class themes, please let us know! We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas! Post a comment below or send off an email to jill@kbdetails.com.

I am an inner city high school, Culinary Arts instructor/teacher with a degree and certification in Secondary Education Reading, and certification in Family and Consumer Science. Therefore, I am NOT an expert in the field of Culinary Arts; I just do the best that I can. My Practicum and Culinary Arts students are for the most part, low income with very little experience outside of their immediate community. Very few have visited outside of the state and some have never even left the city. I have some students who have never eaten a meal outside of their homes, and those who have eaten out, have only experienced food from fast food restaurants, and a few have been to restaurants such as Chili's, Olive Garden, etc. Nevertheless, I try my best to have them experiment with new and different foods, I prepare them and have them enter competitions, and this year they will be giving cooking demonstrations at the Wittee Museum (which is a big deal to us). These demonstrations will be filmed by the school's media department students, so we will be collaborating with another of our Career and Technology Education classes. So, my question is, would you be interested in demonstrations given by my students. Neither they nor I fall under the category of Chef, and I barely fall under the category of Culinary Arts instructor. But, we try.
